Choosing Toddler Pajamas
Toddlers pajamas can often be difficult. During this stage, your child does quite a bit of growing so it
is important to find pajamas that are comfortable and fit properly.
There are many different types of pajamas that you can choose from, and some may last longer than others before
you have to replace them with a larger size. There are a wide variety of options for you to choose from, but
you should always make sure that they are appropriate for your child's age and size.
Age 6 to 12 Months
This stage is the very beginning of the toddler years. This is the time when your child is starting to
toddle around more, by learning how to walk, and needs toddler pajamas that will provide him or her with the
ability to maneuver around without constriction. Typical choices for pajamas will include footed pajamas, but
most other one pieced pajamas will be to tight length wise. It is often a wise idea to get the two
piece toddler pajamas with snaps because there are usually multiple rows of snaps at different levels that you can
use to make sure that the tops and bottoms do not pull down or up on your child.
1 Year to 3 Years Old
This is the middle and ending of the toddler stage. During this time, your wanderer is developing
independence and learning how to do things for himself. The toddler pajamas that you choose should help
foster the growth of that independence by making it easy for him to put on and take off his pajamas. The
toddler pajamas that you can choose her are usually the two piece ones that do not have snaps to connect the tops
and bottoms or footed bottoms. They are simple tops, like regular shirts, and bottoms that can either be
short legged, like shorts, or long legged, like pants.
In both stages of the toddler phase, the types of toddler pajamas that you have choices in will also include a
wide variety of fabrics, but it is important to know that may fabrics are not all that comfortable for
children. Fleece toddler pajamas are good choices for the winter months, but are not ideal for summer
time. Cotton pajamas are a good choice for almost any time of year because they have the ability to both
reduce body heat in warm seasons and hold in body heat during colder seasons. They are also soft enough to be
comfortable to even the pickiest little one.
Regardless of what your final choices are for toddler pajamas, you should always make sure that your choices
are, and remain, safe for your curious child. First and foremost, the fabric should be flame retardant.
From there you should make sure that there are no loose objects, like snaps, that your toddler can pull off and
choke on. You should also make sure that the toddler pajamas that you buy are not too big to reduce the
chance of suffocation. Always inspect the pajamas after every wash to avoid any potential injuries.
